  • Webinar: Making Literacy a Schoolwide Initiative

Literacy is the most important—and most difficult—initiative to implement in a secondary school. Yet, more rigorous state standards view literacy as a shared responsibility across all content areas, making implementation of a schoolwide initiative all the more critical. Register now for a free webinar, “Literacy Lessons Learned,” April 8, from 3:30–4:30 p.m. (ET), with Mel Riddile, NASSP associate director of high school services. Sponsored by Learning First Alliance.

  • Top Youth Volunteers Selected from Across the Country

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring students in grades 5-12 for outstanding volunteer service, has selected 102 State Honorees to receive $1,000, an engraved silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. The awards program, now in its 20th year, is conducted by Prudential Financial in partnership with NASSP. Visit the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards website to learn more.
