U.S. Dept. of Ed Announcements, Regulations, and Policy Guidance

Once a bill is signed into law, the Department of Education then interprets the law for states and the public. Regulations or “Regs” are the binding interpretations of the law whereas guidance is simply the Department’s suggestions on how to go about complying with the regulations. See the Principal's Policy Blog for updates since 2006.
