NASSP members interested in running for a seat on the Board of Directors at the annual conference should use the following summary as a guide on how to run for national office.
Only active members, who are practicing principals or assistant principals are eligible to be directors, President-Elect and President of the Association.
For President-Elect or At-Large Director Positions, a member may be nominated by:
- The board of directors of a state affiliate, or
- Five State Coordinators from at least two regions.
For Regional or Diversity Director positions, a member may be nominated by:
- The board of directors of a state affiliate in the region the director would represent, or
- Two State Coordinators from the region the director would represent.
Any member who is interested in running for a national office position should contact their state association or state coordinator to insure that the individual follows the state established procedures.
